Highlights 

  • secured $4.5million USAID funding under Strengthening International Family Planning Organizations (SIFPO) project to prevent maternal mortality in Tanzania through the provision of quality voluntary family planning and reproductive health services to under-served rural populations, young people and the wider population
  • formed 14 independent outreach teams to improve outreach services in rural areas
  • began a project to develop a sustainable model for HIV prevention and care for the Tanzanian police force in three Tanzanian regions (18 districts)
  • implemented a project with the Department for International Development (DfID) to raise awareness of sexual and reproductive health rights
  • introduced community-based health workers (CBHW) to increase awareness of the programme's services.
