Sushama Dutta, Paramedic, UPHCP Bashbari Maternity Clinic, Bangladesh
Sushama is a Paramedic in a high volume maternity clinic run by our Partner in Bangladesh, Marie Stopes Clinic Society. By installing new systems, training her peers and colleagues and personally overseeing quality assurance, Sushama helped to establish, almost single handedly, an efficient and fully functioning clinic which now handles more than 200 deliveries every month. At the age of 60, Sushama is a bundle of energy, always smiling even in the face of extreme work pressure, and never saying no to any call, even at the dead of night.
