Sheena Dadia, Manager, Urdaneta City Clinic, Philippines
In 1992, Sheena performed for Population Services Philipinas’ (PSPI) award-winning street play on HIV/AIDS. With perseverance and commitment, she became a clinically competent non-paramedic and rose through the ranks, eventually becoming Manager of PSPI’s Marie Stopes Clinic in Urdaneta City on the main island of Luzon in northern Philippines. With Sheena at the helm, the clinic consistently exceeded expectations and produced more than 81,000 CYPs in 2006, mainly through female sterilisations and IUDs provided to indigenous women in several regions across the country.
"When I joined PSPI 14 years ago as a performer for its street play on HIV/AIDS I felt so happy to be part of the organisation because I was doing something worthwhile and enjoyable. Becoming a manager of the Marie Stopes Clinic in Urdaneta is a fulfilment of my dream to be of service to countless women in need of SRH services in my region.”
