Refugees & IDPs

There are an estimated 32.9 million displaced people globally - equivalent to one out of every 170 people in the world.

Marie Stopes International is at the forefront of efforts to ensure access to life-saving sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services for refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs). Marie Stopes International directly provides SRH services to these populations in countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Yemen.

Marie Stopes International is also working with a wide range of partners to mobilise the global policy and donor communities to increase political and financial support for SRH in emergency settings. One of these partnerships is the RAISE initiative.
