Highlights

  • the programme helped nearly 200,000 clients in 2009 and its work averted more than 1,000 maternal deaths
  • provided over 90% of Sierra Leone's long-term and permanent methods of family planning#launched the HealthyLife voucher scheme to improve access to long-term family planning

Future plans


  • continue to expand contraceptive choices by increasing provision of tubal ligation, contraceptive implants and intrauterine devices (IUD)
  • continue to increase the number of franchisees in the BlueStar social franchising network
