Highlights

  • Banja La Mtsogolo provides 31% of all family planning services in the country
  • significantly reduced the number of STIs and scabies in all prisons in Malawi as a result of the Banja La Mtsogolo prison health screening programme
  • the scale up of outreach to 202 rural community sites and the provision of free services to rural communities thereby complementing the Government’s scale up of the Essential Health Package
  • the integration of a pilot anti retroviral treatment programme with existing services

Future plans

  • reach an even greater number of clients during 2008
  • introduce male circumcision as part of fight against the spread of HIV in Malawi
  • establish a social franchise network to help expand access to quality sexual and reproductive services
