Highlights 

  • provides a quarter of all female sterilisations in the country
  • a national campaign by Marie Stopes International Bolivia has secured free cervical smear testing for all women in all government health centres across the country
  • the number of Couple Years of Protection provided so far in 2007 are on target to exceed the 2006 total

Future plans

  • open a clinic in El Alto
  • establish two new outreach teams in Chuquisaca and La Paz – giving thousands more people access to services and information
  • double the number of Couple Years of Protection generated in 2007
