Benefits - International division
For your dedication, passion and hard work you will be rewarded with our support and benefits, both financial and non-financial. This includes our on-going commitment to your personal and professional growth through annual performance appraisals, training and a range of opportunities.
Marie Stopes International is an attractive place to work in part because of the work environment created by our team members. We’re not just talking bricks and mortar (after all, we work in some pretty interesting and unusual places), we also mean that we can guarantee that you will be surrounded by focused, intelligent, high-achieving, talented individuals.
As a team we all contribute in our different ways, with our unique skill-sets and personal attributes helping us achieve our Mission. Marie Stopes International is an innovative, visionary and enjoyable place to be. We’re proud of that, and its one of the things that keeps us coming back day after day.
Please note, some of the benefits listed (relocation, housing allowance, shipping allowance and tax advice) are only available to team members on international assignment.
Salary
While we are a non-profit or social enterprise (a business with a social rather than financial goal), our aim is to offer competitive salaries and benefits, and to support this we conduct regular salary benchmarking exercises.

Pension
Once you’ve been with us for three months you’ll be eligible to join our pension scheme. If you’re prepared to contribute not less than 2.5% of your monthly salary to the scheme, we will contribute an amount equivalent to 5% of your salary.
All pension scheme members are immediately covered by a Marie Stopes International-funded Life Assurance Programme, equivilant of three times your salary.
Please note: none-British tax payers (or those without a National Insurance number) are not eligible to join this scheme.
We are also exploring an international pension / savings scheme - so watch this space!

Other leave
Sick leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, unpaid and family leave – we won’t document them in detail here, but hopefully you’re gaining a picture of an organisation that supports its people – because that’s exactly what we do.

Relocation
Relocation can be a disruptive experience. So, in order to get you to your assignment destination in a healthy, fit and focused frame of mind, we assist you both financially and with hands-on support, as below:
<back to top>
Flights
We’ll fly you and your immediate family (if appropriate) economy class to your assignment location, and back again at the end of your assignment. In addition, we will provide you with a flight to your domicile country after every 12 months of service.

Shipping
We realise your belongings are precious to you, so we’ll contribute towards shipping your goods and establishing yourself overseas. We’re fairly relaxed about what you spend this on (pets, books, furniture, clothes and the like) as long as you provide us with receipts or invoices for expenditure.

Housing
Not only will we put you up in either a hotel or serviced apartment for your first month, we’ll also provide you with an annual allowance towards the cost of housing. You can spend this as you see fit, as long as you keep us up-to-date on your expenditure and provide receipts.

Security
As required, we will pay an additional stripend (location specific) to cover security.
Tax
As a UK-based organisation we must adhere to UK legislation, and this includes ensuring that our team members meet their global tax requirements. To assist you with this we will put you in touch with our global tax advisors, so that you can meet with them prior to departure, and on arrival.
In addition, we will provide you with financial assistance to meet your obligations in your assignment location should you be unable to minimise these.
Visas
Our London and in-country teams (where applicable) will support you in gaining your relevant authorisation to work overseas.

Per diems
A daily payment (per diem) is made to all team members who travel for work (away from your country of assignment), to ensure all your expenses are covered. The rates vary according to location but are kept under constant review to ensure they remain competitive.

Insurance
Insurance may not be the most exciting topic, but if you need it, you’ll be glad you have it. If you’re travelling out of your assignment location for work you will be covered by our extensive travel insurance (including medical and emergency evacuation provision). This also applies to team members in our Support Offices in London and Australia when travelling overseas as part of their work.
In addition, we recognise that health systems vary around the world, and we want you to rest assured that your health is a priority for us. We offer comprehensive medical insurance to team members based overseas.
