The private sector
Marie Stopes International engages with private sector partners to protect ever greater numbers of factory workers globally. For example, Marie Stopes International Viet Nam designed a sexual and reproductive health (SRH) programme for factory workers producing goods for Adidas. The sportswear manufacturer now requires compliance with this programme as part of its contracts with factory operators in Viet Nam. Marie Stopes International Viet Nam provides the SRH services needed and receives a fee from the factories for each worker seen.
Similarly, Marie Stopes International operates health card schemes for workers in several other countries including Bangladesh, where over 110,000 workers from 135 participating factories receive regular SRH services.
